Urth Farms, located in the city of New Britain, Connecticut, is a 3.5 acre certified-organic urban farm that has practiced organic farming methods for the past 17 years. We pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of the highest quality produce, including tomatoes, kale, peppers, avocado, grapefruit, oranges, and so much more.
But our work goes beyond the fields and greenhouses. That's why we work with local non-profit groups and community organizations to have a greater impact towards our goal to make sure everyone has access to healthy and affordable food.
Urth Farms is one of the oldest urban farms in the U.S., and it is also has one of the most compelling stories. Founded in 1999 and funded via a state grant, the farm (then known as Urban Oaks) brought new life to the North Oak neighborhood of New Britain.
This urban oasis has a long history of serving the local and surrounding communities with healthy organic produce through it's mobile market and education initiatives. It's a one-of-a-kind farm that has become an integral part of the New Britain community.
